DESCRIPTION:Avenues Supported Living Services is joining the international day of generosity called “Giving Tuesday”. Every year this day falls on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.\nAvenues Supported Living Services\, Inc. is participating in Giving Tuesday this November 30\, 2021. \nFor those that are unaware of this day\, Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. Giving Tuesday was created as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. It falls on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This is the time of year when YOU CAN HELP Avenues SLS raise much-needed funds that go toward our Fuel for Volunteers Campaign. Funds also help Avenues continue to provide coaching and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. \n \nAs a 501 (c) 3 non-profit\, fundraising is an essential role in the growth of the organization. Two years ago\, we started our “Fuel for Volunteers” campaign and set a goal to raise $5\,000\, this year. Funds received for Giving Tuesday go to fill gaps in funding the state does not provide for costs associated with Fuel and Travel for Avenues SLS’ daily drives through SCV neighborhoods to post flyers (daily) and drive back to the same location the following week to pick up donations related to Avenues SLS’ year-round CLOTHING DRIVE\, Volunteering at Food Pantries\, Volunteering at Animal Rescue\, and Volunteering with Food Distribution. \n \nYou can help us reach our goal by Texting the word Fuel to 71-777 You will receive a link where you can scroll down the page to see all of our community volunteers and people we support at Avenues SLS.
