Chris, like many adults, moved into his own place with two paid roommates just before his 20th birthday. 15 years later, Chris is very active and happy, living in a house he shares with one paid roommate. He is an avid walker/runner and loves participating in 5K’s on the weekend to support many local and national causes. He loves the camaraderie of fellow walkers/runners and the hype of the start and finish lines. Chris also volunteers at the Salvation Army on a weekly basis, sorting and hanging donated clothing. He volunteers at Hart Park each week, assisting with parking lot and trail maintenance. At least once a week, you can find Chris posting flyers on residential doors for Soles4Souls, collecting new and gently used shoes for international use. Chris enjoys making a difference for people and the sense of accomplishment he gets out of his volunteer work is evident in his smile.
Because Chris relies on private vehicles to transport him to his volunteer sites, his Instructional Coaches incur quite a bit of mileage each week. These fuel costs add up and with your donations, Avenues can try to alleviate these added fuel costs associated with transportation. Please help Chris’ volunteer efforts by donating any amount.
There are two ways you can donate;
1. Click on the donate button at the top of the AvenuesSLS.org website and enter any amount you can give.
2. Text the word Fuel3 to 71777 – press send and a message will prompt you to click on the link provided to continue on to the payment page where you may also choose your donation amount.
Again, any donation you feel you can give helps Avenues SLS continue to support our community volunteers.
Thank you!
